Call for Papers

We are pleased to announce that the second Delta and Sinai Conference will be held at:

 

the Department of Egyptian and Near Eastern Archaeology,

Institute of Archaeology, Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland

( 29th September - 1st October 2016 )

 

The present circular is an invitation to the Second Delta and Sinai Conference, which following the first meeting held at the Department of Egyptian and Nubian Archaeology, Institute of Archaeology, University of Warsaw in 2013, will be devoted to archaeology of the Nile Delta and Sinai from the Prehistory until the end of the Ist  millennium BC. Members of the Organizing Committee of upcoming Conference Delta and Sinai 2. Current Research, are involved in archaeological projects at Tell el-Farkha and Tell el-Murra in the Nile Delta and Tel Erani in Israel.

 

The aim of the conference is to provide an opportunity to present results of recent archaeological research by all Researchers whose study are related to the northern part of Egypt. Archaeologists, who wish to present papers concerning this area, as well as those who work in neighbouring regions, but their research provide data related to these from the northern part of Egypt, are all invited to attend. Specialists from other fields (anthropology, archaeozoology, archaeobotany, geology, geophysical research) whose work is connected with archaeological excavation at sites in the region are also welcome.  

 

The official language of the conference will be English.

The length of the presentation will be 20 minutes.

 

Preliminary registration form and abstract:

- The registration form and an abstract (up to 400 words) should be submitted at:

- The deadline for the preliminary registration form and an abstract submission is: 25th April 2016

 

Conference fees:

- Conference fee is 80 Euro if paid till the end of May 2016

- Conference fee includes coffee breaks, gala dinner and conference packet

- Conference fee does not include costs of optional trips

- Travel costs and accommodation in Kraków participants are asked to cover from their own means

- Fee payment deadline is:

30th June 2016

 

All further, detailed information concerning fee payment method, possible accommodation etc. will be forwarded in the Second Circular send to all who return attached registration form and an abstract. These information will be available also at the conference website at the beginning of 2016.
